If landlords are organized, why aren’t tenants? 

True housing reform and improved tenant rights come through organizing. The landlord class became as powerful as it is today through its own collective action. The real estate industry has a chokehold on housing, it incentivizes tenant exploitation, and it has massive political influence. 

BSTA is a self-governing organization committed to building collective tenant power across Chicagoland. A unified tenant class has the ability to shape the future of housing, and to combat the greedy, oppressive landlord class that continues to profit from the human right to housing.
